ALLIANCE INSURANCE was formed in 1986 by Joan L. Dore', Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), who has been in the insurance business since 1978. Since that time the agency, which is located a few blocks from the White House in downtown Washington DC, has grown to insure thousands of individuals and hundreds of businesses in the metropolitan area. Joan is assisted in the commercial insurance department by Ken Daveler, CIC, CISR, President, who has been with the agency since 1990.

In January of 2007, Alliance merged with Great Oak Insurance, Inc. of Rockville, MD to form Alliance Insurance Services, Inc. Great Oak was owned by Don Butcher, CIC, CRM, a veteran of 25 years of commercial insurance and risk management experience. Don is the new CEO of Alliance.

Our personal insurance division is run by manager Kristen Mentzer. CISR, CIC. Kristen has over 8 years of Personal lines experience and now runs our growing Personal Lines department.

All of our employees have a commitment to maintain a high standard of excellence in all that they do and above all to establish a firm relationship of mutual trust with our clients.
